Sweet clock there CoCo.
Dad, we think in analog, no digital clocks.
a love of fine instruments of writing
sharp knives.
pocket and chef.
I love the sound of a knife being sharpened.

Got the bag thing too from my mom
is a bag man.. i take bags with me everywhere: paper and canvas shopping bags, designer sacs, wine-tote bags, and so forth.
there is so much to transport, drop off, and new stuff to bring to my digs.
an assortment awaits me in the foyer as i head out to do some long-postponed and needed acquisition.

a couple of months ago this crazy gb member via video gave a talk about their would be princes in the new order but no princesses.
i thought that was so funny.
especially after he beated around the bush the whole talk, finally saying in the last sentence their would be princes but no princesses in the new system, then the video just blacked out.
fine with me...smile
one of the reasons people remain pimo is fear of losing family.
those that are disfellowshipped and shunned regularly comment about how devastated that they have lost the approval of their parents.. when i respond to emails from people saying how difficult it is being estranged or looked down on by their parents, i would like to say that over time they will come to terms with it, except i not sure that people ever do.
i cannot shake that feeling either.
It seems that people live a longer life by the ocean and with Family.
Sardinia for example.
Its sad that we have to choose.
i remember a brother making the above statement in regards to an elderly sister who had passed.
he stated we don't mourn or even visit grave sites because we have a hope that jah will resurrect the dead.
it seemed really creepy at the time, hell, even jesus wept when lazarus died.
Don't even get me started....
A JW funeral is a farce. It's completely scripted . You don't even have a choice in music. Or no JW music. Let alone their info commercial talk.
Not only is the loved one that has left barely spoke of , but grieving Family and Friends are not allowed to speak.
Thank the thoughts of the Buddha , "a man stays alive as long as he is remembered"
Oh and please just give me an Irish Wake party when I pass and scatter my ashes into the Monterey Bay while playing Stairway to Heaven...smile
there were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.
While nervously waiting to have a back room 'chat' with three elders after the meeting, I was counseled to smile. He said I was drawing undo attention.
i was thinking about how the society criticises other faiths such as catholics because of their ritualistic procedures.. but couldn't it be said that witnesses have their own deeply ritualistic behaviours?.
think about the prayers said at meetings.
they all have to follow the same basic style and theme, and include the same basic content.. what about the ritualistic procedures of the memorial, and the passing of emblems - even to the servers and speaker (although they actually handle them more than everyone, they do their own special act of passing them to each other).
I agree stuckinarut2
There is a superstitious quality to it too.
That is also something that they describe Catholics as being.
publication, that is?.
i just found all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial in storage.
i enjoyed studying it, as well as make sure of all things, hold fast to what is fine.. our thinking has changed, of course, but, back then, did you have a wt publication you especially liked?.
I enjoyed reading the Aide book.
It was fun looking up different words.
Kind of a JW mini encyclopedia.
I still have a copy .
That and my old marked up bible that I used to study my way out, are the only books I kept.
ah , take that back; a friend gave my an old paradise book that I keep around too.

It's The Bolero, again, done in Spain.
Many beginning young students, as it should be.

i love the little girl that climbs the lamp post.
the last moment also, when a father raises his daughter to the heavens.
we leave friday for his disney cruise wish.
he's also a big star wars fan, and they have a star wars day on one of the seafaring days.
to say we are all looking forward to this is an understatement.
Azor
You got me all teary eyed....Happy ones.
Have a blast and take a lot of photos.
and yes, a good reminder to give back, it literally raises our endorphins and any one that is a witness.
Hugs to your little dove
